A vintage mid-century teak Gianfranco Frattini style bookcase room divider -teak
A vintage mid-century teak Gianfranco Frattini style bookcase room divider in teak.
This bookcase is in the style of Gianfranco Frattini which retail between 10-20K, however there are no makers marks/labels attached.
The modular bookshelf/room divider consists of 4 bays (5 uprights) and 13 shelves, 1 drawer, 1 cabinet with barn doors and 1 drop down cabinet. Each shelf or cabinet can be adjusted as they sliding in and out of the 16 'teeth' that are on each side of the uprights.
The cabinets are not actually fixed cabinets but doors that attach to an upper and a lower shelf giving the impression that they are cabinets. As a result the doors could be removed if you only wanted shelves. Inside there is an additional shelf that is slightly smaller so it fits behind the doors.
The bookshelf/room divider is finished on both sides so can be displayed in the middle of a room.
A superb piece of brutalist design!

Condition Report
The unit has been stripped and oiled.
There are signs of use as you would expect, with some damage to some of the teeth (only one is visible from the front).
The drop down cabinet was originally used as a writing desk, however we would suggest this only used as a cabinet.
